Don was born Aug. 1, 1928, in Columbus, to Earl Reuben Lintner and Emma Marie Graumlich.
He graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School in 1945. Don was an avid follower of Jesus Christ, kind and most generous to everyone that he met, greeting everyone with, “Good morning.”
He was a great lover of draft horses, with which he farmed for 31 years. Don bought his first team of Belgian workhorses, a pair of mother and daughter mares, at the age of 16 with his grandpa, Zif Graumlich. He moved to Pickaway County in 1949 and started dairying with a herd of Holstein cows. Most of Don’s crop farming and hay making was done with the team.
In later years, Don was a reputable and respected dealer of fine Holstein dairy cattle in the US and Canada. With the progress of machinery, crop production and efficiency, the team was sold for a number of years. Don’s passion for his team of horses was never lost. In 1979, a team of Percherons was purchased. The 110-acre farm produced 40 tons of pumpkins and hundreds of dozens of sweet corn each year until 2012 when he retired.
Together with his wife, Theresa Jacqueline Couchie (Cochae) Lintner. Together they raised seven daughters, Sheila Dawn (Jeff) Writsel, Christy Sue (Bob) Diltz, Aunda Lu (Scott) Watters, Brenna Colene (HL) Gibson, Lisa Ann (Eric) Berlin, Donna Raye (John) Haller and Tonya Marie “Toni” (Alan) Sutton. He also leaves 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; special friend, David Carson; sister, Betty Whitacre; brother, Larry (Helen) Lintner; and brother, Beck (Barb) Lintner.

My father, Edward F. Riffle Sr. was a wonderful family man with great spirit, character and integrity. He was a leader in community organization being born May 2, 1924 in
Kansas, Ohio. He was first diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1994 after his retirement from Cooper Tire in 1992. He was a lint application specialist and would come home covered in lint black that was used within his area of the plant. He may have had Parkinson's but it would not define him as his spirit and faith exceeded the bounds the PD could reach. Many times he would fall and we would dive to catch him. However, many times he would complete the fall with a "tuck and roll" to his back. He was in a tireless pursuit of the perfect "10" which we would gladly give him as he smiled quietly. Soon the falls became more frequent and the laughter subsided as we grew were more and more concerned. A community gathered for a wonderful celebration of life for our father "the perfect 10" in so many ways on May 22, 1999 when he softly passed into glory and left a way of living and legacy in our hearts where it became our way of life and legacy for us to follow.
